What are the laws about pet rent in Virginia?I am moving to Virginia and where I live now they cant charge pet rent.I dont want to pay 50 more dollars for my dog.Can they charge me?Can some one please help find any information on this please.

i think it depends on the landlord, not based on an actual law. call around or look online to find an apartment thats suited for both of you

most places require you to put down a pet deposit in addition to your security deposit to make sure the animal doesn’t damage the property. the cost of the deposit varies from place to place. i had to put a 100 down for a pet deposit. those that actually charge a pet rent it will be along the lines of 50-100 bucks in addition to your regular rent
