eastern shore
Heather S asked:

I woke up one morning about a week ago and I had a bite mark on my thigh. It itched really bad and was swollen and sort of had a sting to it. I sort of thought it may be a spider because it was really big. About three days later the bite had a huge red ring around it which looked to be the mark of a tick with lime’s disease. I went to the doctor and he agreed, however, around the bite mark was a line which looked to be a burrow mark and he didn’t know of anything in the area that burrowed except chiggers and I would have more than one bite. And my blood work came back negative for lime’s disease however, I am on a antibiotic. Now one week later I have a huge bite mark on my neck and it feels like it has a burrow. Does anyone know of anything that could be biting me? I live on the eastern shore of Maryland.

I saw on the news the other day that chiggers ARE heavy this year.

I live in MD and I know of nothing in the region. But consuder beg bugs are quickly becoming a problem. (I was bitten on a cruise and the bites are red, itch and have that stinging you are talking about) They are really good hitchhikers and can be smaller then a poppy seed. Here is a web site to learn more (and hopefully fule them out). Good luck
