Music video by Chris De Burgh performing Ship To Shore: Stereo (C) 1982 Mercury Records Limited
eastern salisbury
A small man appears in suit trousers and a white shirt, giving a little wave, like a businessman happy to have finished a long day of conference calls. This man is Chris de Burgh. The name alone summons a rush of associations, some of which carry a shudder, few of which fail to draw a smile. There is that warbly tenor, the calling card of the mawkish balladeer (I have never seen that dress youre wearing ) which switches at the faintest invitation into a throaty belt: DONT PAY THE FERRYMAN!
This bloke is a mono browed bollox!
I’m Irish and Britain is welcome to him - more than!
Cool Vid. In my company I had a lot of such good men in 89. They will be in charge again very soon and than something more will change in my country. It will be a hot autumn once again! Don’t give the banksters one more chance! Fight for your freedom, because there nothing left to think about it!
He is a metalhead… don’t mind him. He will be voted off the island soon enough.
I think Chris’s strongest showing on this album had to be “Don’t pay the Ferryman”… but there was several promising songs like this one on his first album.
Thank goodness “Lady in Red” was such a hit, it recentered focus on some of his earlier works that we all loved like this song.
Sorry guys. That Last Post was uncalled for. I just get a little annoyed at people who put down music that has meaning to some people.
Hey Chubbyau01
If you don’t like Chris Deburg why don’t you just go back to the “Great Meaningful Music” Like say boyz to men or some simeler garbage. That is if you can even define or even spell music
If you don’t like this, just go away. Some of us like Chris and his music
